Question: Suffering from stiffness in the joints, mostly Shoulders, hips, knees and back after a nights sleep. Unable to raise hands over my head in the morning, painful standing up and walking, painful turning a steering wheel, unable to bend down and pick up lightweight box from the floor. Brief Answer:
arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have recently have been on steroids for the purpose of treating a knee effusion. When you stopped taking the steroids you began having severe muscle and joint stiffness in the morning. The stiffness is usually seen as a withdrawal from injecting the steroids. The stiffness may last for several days until your body starts to making its own steroids again.

If the steroids are not the cause then you may have the beginning of general arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. I recommend that you see a rheumatologist to do a full exam and take labs for rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune disorder.

To help with the pain while you are waiting to see a doctor I recommend that you start taking an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your health care questions and concerns
