default
Posted on Mon, 5 Jan 2015
Question: I believe I suffered from a small bout of the stomach flu and vomited two times yesterday morning, around 5am. It is now evening on the next day and my abdomen and chest are in lots of pain. I feel discomfort in the back of my throat and chest pressure when taking deep breaths. Should I be worried or will this soon heal?

Brief Answer:
it will end in a few days

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and am sorry for the situation you are in.

From what you are describing, it seems to be a possible viral infection with :
- upper respiratory affection ( sore throat and chest pain)
- GI issues ( vomiting )

It will take a few more days for the symptoms to subside. Meanwhile, I advise to:
- increase fluids intake (tea, juice)
- take OTC pain killers
- have light meals (soups, yoghurt, etc)
- do gargle with warm water and salt
- take 1 teaspoon of honey and olive oil

If symptoms will get worse, should consult with your doctor for further evaluation.

Wish fast recovery!
