Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX sahab and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to first provide you with some information on hepatitis B for your better understanding. It is as follows:
-There are two forms of hepatitis (acute and chronic). If hepatitis B is acute (sudden and the first time) the patient does not require any treatment and the infection will subside on its own. The only treatment required is supportive to make the patient feel comfortable, and nothing else.
-Only if the infection is chronic, then patients may be prescribed antiviral medications or synthetic medications to help promote the patients immunity to fight the infection (Eg. interferon alfa-2b)
-Hepatitis recovery time takes at least 6 months, so if it started some time in August, then the SGPT and SGOT levels will only completely normalise by Jan-Feb
Now that you know this information sir, I would like to ask if this is the first time the patient has got hepatitis B? If so, then the treatment advised by the doctor is quite appropriate sir, as this would be an acute infection and no anti-viral medications would be warranted.
Another point I would like to highlight here is that, as suspected (that the patient has an acute infection, not requiring treatment) the patient seems to be recovering as seen in the reports you provided me with in this discussion:
10th September : SGOT – 1938 SGPT -1586
17th September: SGOT – 1085 SGPT -687 (reduced SGOT and SGPT)
23rd September: SGOT – 777.00 SGPT-393.00 (further reduction in SGOT and SGPT levels, almost one third the value seen on the 10th September)
As you have gone through the above given pattern sir, the patient seems to have recovered to quite an extent. So I think the patient will certainly continue to recover with time, without requiring much medication to treat the infection directly. So please stay stress-free and continue whatever is being done for the patient to recover, God will take care of the rest.
I hope you find my response helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.

All queries addressed sir
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again XXXXXXX sir.
I am more than happy to be of assistance. I shall surely provide you with the information you are seeking sir.
1. As explained in my previous response sir, there is no treatment required for acute cases of Hep B. And so, the doctor has only prescribed symptomatic treatment that will help prevent secondary infections, protect the liver from any damage, and also make the patient feel more comfortable. So I do not feel there is anything that needs to be added to the treatment regimen sir.
2. The only precaution required is to completely avoid:
-Outside food
-Spicy food
-Oily/fried/fatty food
-Contaminated water or water in doubt from sources we are unsure about (so drink water boiled and processed at home). Other than this, hepatoprotectors (eg. udiliv) can be continued.
3. The modes of transmission of hepatitis B are through sexual contact, sharing of needles or accidental use of a contaminated needle, and mother to child. Other than this there are no other causes or modes of transmission, so your family members need not be tested unless they have faced any of the above modes of transmission. Testing would not be required, but you can choose to do so for your own satisfaction sir, it would not be wrong.
I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
