Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Humira is a monoclonal antibody named adalimumab. Sore throat is more frequent with inflammatory bowel disease. Humira for sure is the better drug for ulcerative colitis but it is not the drug for strep throat.

Prednisone helps the inflammation though of the throat but does not get rid of the strep infections. She needs an antibiotic for that. If keflex is not responding then she might need to change the antibiotic. You may not be using keflex enough, we recommend 250 mg taken 6 hourly four times a day. I use Amoxil 500 mg twice a day for my patients. It works like charm. If it still doesn't respond it might not be strep at all and likely viral and that self resolves.

These rigors and chills might not be correlated to strep throat at all. It could mask n underlying infections. UC itself gives rigors and chills as it is common in involving nearby genitourinary tract and that for sure gives rigors and chills quite often.

The best choice here is to visit an otorhinolaryngologist and let them have a look at the throat of your daughter and decide what is best for her.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and her and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
