Brief Answer:
Most likely Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. This can come due to problems in inner ear or related to migraine.

An examination with ENT specialist will be helpful to rule out whether it is related to ear or central (related to brain). Taking anti vertigo medications for 1 week will be helpful for this.

Over the counter antihistamines like Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) can be taken for this. If no improvement then you need to take vertigo medications like antivert (meclizine). Usually it will subside within 1 week.

If this last longer then a consultation with neurologist and imaging of Brain will be required.

Let me know if anything not clear. I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It can be a sudden onset in any age group.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

It can be a sudden onset at any age group. There is no specific age for this. Most cases are idiopathic (cant find any causes also) usually resolve in1 week time also. Taking anti vertigo medication will be helpful also. But better to have an examination with ENT specialist to rule out whether it is caused by ear problems or any central (brain related) cause. ENT specialist will do certain maneuvers to to find out this.
