Question : I have had sudden onset right side chest pain. Area is tender to touch. Made worse by movememeny, deep breathing, sneezing. Can't recall any injury. Not responding to nsaids. I am 64 years old.

You have not mentioned if you have any fever, cough, shortness of breath.

There are multiple causes for sudden onset chest pain starting from skin, muscles, bones, joints, cartilages and going down to lungs and its coverings and many more.

If the pain is not relieved with pain killers you need to undergo certain investigations. To start with you should get a chest xray done along with a complete blood count.

I suggest that you consult your PCP so that he can get complete history, examine you, ask for relevant investigations and advise you accordingly.
