Question : If i have an infection on my face that has caused swelling of my entire cheek and eye, can i apply hot compresses or cold?

Apply hot compress.
This will help in localisation of pus.
It looks alarming, probably you need intravenous antibiotics. Better continue with ointment mupirocine.
Please meet your doctor and discuss regarding intravenous antibiotics.
You don't need to disinfect house, however you must keep you towel and other things that come in contact with your face separate.
