Question : I suddenly developed huge swelling in the lower lip. I took usual meds: metformin, zestril, and anticholesterol pill. Additionaly, I took amantadine and bactrim because I have had flu-like symptoms and congestion. What it can be and what should I do (maybe this is because of drug reactions)?

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description possibility of following two is more.
1. Allergic reaction
2. Viral infection.
In any case treatment is as follows.
1. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
2. Avoid oily and spicy food.
3. Avoid dust, pollens, pollution, smoke etc.
4. Strict control of diabetes is needed.
5. Start anti allergic and antihistamine drugs. Combination is available.
6. Also take anti inflammatory drugs.
If not improving in 5 days with all these then consult doctor because you may need steroids.
