Brief Answer:
It sounds like a hernia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of this bulge? Without is its really hard to give valuable answer.

Usually such bulge is a hernia of the umbilicus. It may be painful or painless. Can come and go. Especially when you lying down, should be less visible. Sometimes its easy to push it back to the abdomen.

The best way to diagnose it, is abdominal ultrasound. If its hernia, surgery should be considered.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

This doesn't hurt at all. My stomach flattens when I lay down. I had cool sculpt down about a year ago. Could this be a side effect

Brief Answer:
Hernia can be painless.

Detailed Answer:
Like I have mentioned before, without seeing it, its hard to tell.
Hernia does not have to hurt. And it can be caused by intense gym workout.
