Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Neck And Head
Question: I have a nephew whose had swelled neck and head in Liberia. But he is not diagnose with cancer. Presently his hands and legs seem paralyzed. What is your advice and can a doctor check him up from here in the USA? We were told it was bug bite but we dot know what to do.
Brief Answer:
A teleconsult could be arranged.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Imaging of head and neck needed first to narrow the conditions that may cause your nephew's symptoms.
Best imaging tool to evaluate the nature of the disease is head and neck MRI scan.
Nerve conduction study and EMG needed as well, to evaluate the cause of limbs paralysis ( poly radiculoneuritis?).
After these tests are done and most probable diagnoses are assessed, a teleconsult could be arranged between your nephew in Libia and the Doctor in USA.
Hope this helps. I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.
Best regards.
