Brief Answer:
Yes it may be caused by propranolol

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. Based on the history you have shared, yes it can be caused by propranolol. It can even slow down heart so much that may lead to pooling of fluids in the dependant parts. It also blocks certain helpful responses in the body which cause compensatory mechanisms in stress or posture changes or other conditions which are maintaining flow of blood appropriately. Now is the question of what to do next? Can you kindly share the Indication of its usage in your case so that we can suggest you alternate options so that you can stop it wothout causing the trouble? Also look for other causes of ankle swellings and shouldn't attribute it to a single cause. To start with an echo cardiogram and EKG alongwith urinalysis for any evidence of protien leak alongwith liver functions should be done. Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards. .
