Question : I strained my right calf muscle and now it has swelled to twice the normal size. I have diabetes, RLS and neuropathy. I take Metformin and Metanx regularly. I was given Ibuprofen for the welling. Should I do more?

Thanks for the query

Ibuprofen is good to reduce the pain, inflammation and swelling. Also do keep your limb elevated over a thick pillow. Apply elastic crepe bandage from the foot rolled upwards to the mid thigh. Perform ankle pump movements. Also apply ice to the affected regions 6 times a day.

These shall help in reducing the swelling drastically in 3 to 5 days at the XXXXXXX
