Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Left Side Of Face

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Jul 2015
Question: the left side of my face has been swollen for about 7 weeks - No pain. The doctor said it COULD BE sinus infection/allergies, but I've had sinuses all my life and never any allergies. And my sinuses never lead to a swollen face. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO concern because I have no pain, but I did have pain when it initially started at the top of my gums so I went to the dentist; they said it may be due to the root canal I had in my crown; but the specialist that done my root canal said it was no infection. I am so, so, so, worried... now I'm beginning to feel self conscious with this lopsided face. could it be cellulitis due to the root canal? I don't want this swelling lead to something serious if left untreated. I want an antibiotic which would make me feel better than the Flonase my doctor prescribed me 2 weeks ago. It's truly not helping anything.. Please help me!

Brief Answer:
Cellulitis, radiograph, medication

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the swelling over the face is concerned, it can be because of infection from the root canal treated tooth (improperly done) or it can be infection from the adjacent tooth leading to cellulitis. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. You can get a radiograph done to confirm the diagnosis. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole (if you are not allergic). The swelling will come down in 3days.
I hope I have answered your query. IF any queries are there reply me back. take care.
