Question : I have swelling in the front lower part of my neck, right at the esophagus area, it's mainly on the right side? What could this be. It started a few months ago and seems to be get larger, it is now noticeable by others.

You have noticed an enlargement in the front part of your neck. This sounds like you have a growth of the thyroid gland. I would recommend that you see your medical provider. If you have enlargement of the thyroid gland it could be due to loss of function cause the gland to compensate by growing or you could have a growth of tumor within the gland. Your doctor will feel the gland and then order labs and possible ultrasound to determine the cause of the growth.
