Question : Today about 12 noon, my wife was working outside and got stuck with a palm thorn. It has now became very swollen, and painful to the point that she can't sleep. The lightest touch to the finger is extremely painful. She is originally from Haiti and isn't sure if she ever had a tetanus shot.

                                    Brief Answer:
anti inflammatory drug
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Probably a part of the thorn had remained inside which is causing inflammation.
Ask her to take an anti inflammatory drug like combination.
This will reduce pain.
Try to see if a piece of thorn is there which can be removed.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you

She's fairly certain that she got all the thorn out. I'll have her take an ant-inflammatory.
