Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Tonsils

Question : Right tonsillar pillar and right tonsil swollen for more than a year. Sometime it pains and extends upto right ear. Feel mild soreness while eating also in the right side. Had been on antibiotics for 4 times in the initial 3 months on the advice of ENT doctor, thereafter discontinued feeling ok. However, soreness still there, doing regular gargling with saline water, betadine gargle syrup, symptoms revives most If I take cold food, and in the AC room, season change. Should I worry about it or start treatment again?

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. You need not worry. Gurgling with lukewarm water would be the mainstay of treatment. Saline gurgle can also be used. I would not advise any other treatment to be given. If that still does not help, you would need to discuss with your ENT doctor whether surgical intervention (tonsillectomy) could yield better results.
