Brief Answer:
Please see an Orthopedician

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

From the description provided by you, I feel that it could be a minor bruise due to trauma caused by the accident but it would be important to rule out any hairline fractures.

So, Please see an Orthopedician who will examine you and might ask for a X ray of the injured knee.

Meanwhile follow these instructions:
1. Take complete bed rest till any fracture is ruled out. As walking or any strain on the injured knee might increase the degree of the fracture.
2. Hot bag fomentation will help in relieving the pain.
3. Tab Paracetamol or Ibuprofen three times a day after food for pain till the pain is relieved or till you see your doctor.
4. Analgesic sprays or gels like Volini will help in reducing the pain.

Hope this answers your query. If any further questions, will be happy to help.

Regards.
