Brief Answer:
Increase dose of diuretics...

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

I am sorry for the situation your husband is in.

You are reporting that your husband is having:
- secondary liver cancer: meaning that the primary cancer is located elsewhere. May I know where?

- swollen feet and calf muscles : are related to secondary liver cancer. Due to cancer, his liver has ceased working properly, thus blood will stay in the lower limbs leading to swollen feet and calf muscles.

I noted that he is also taking diuretics like furosemide and spironolacton, which will also help reducing his swollen feet. If the actual dose of these diuretics is not helping, then, I advise to discuss with his doctor to increase the dose.

Another cause to his swollen feet might be kidney failure, most probably due to metastasis. I advise to run kidney function test; if the results are abnormal, then, can discuss with his doctor about hemodialysis.

- pain in the stomach and swollen abdomen might be related to secondary liver cancer and/or to the primary cancer that might have caused other damages

At the end, as chemo is not working, it means that not much has remained to do for him. It will be difficult to bring his feet and abdomen back to normal (almost impossible) due to this terminal illness.

If the pain is not subsided when using endone, you can discuss with his doctor to start morphine or other related drugs.

Hope it helped! God bless!
