Swelling of the feet and ankles could be due to many different causes. It could be due to diseases of heart, kidneys or liver. Or it could be due to local causes like cellulitis, varicose veins or deep vein thrombosis.

A clinical examination and few lab tests are to be done to know which of the above is causing the swelling.
