Question : My daughter woke up with swollen, inflamed, peeling top and bottom lips. The corners of the mouth cracked and surrounding tissue irritated. She has had depressed immunity during times of stress and also struggles with warts on fingers, knee, etc. She is in college and we just found out my husband has cancer. She describes the feeling as her lips and corners feeling raw . .

Dear Ms,

From the description given following two possibilities need to be considered

1. Angular Stomatitis: Possibly related to Vitamin B2 deficiency
2. Herpes Labialis: Stress , associated illness could be precipitating factors

I would suggest the following

1. Local application of Glycerine to the cracked lips
2. Multivitamin supplements
