Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes And White Coating In The Mouth

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Feb 2016
Question: Hello Dr., I was so much stressed a month before and in the morning I woke up having white coating all over my mouth, red lines on my throat, ulceration/irritation of my tongue on the side and swollen taste buds. but it is not painful at all. the white coating is still there though I tried to brush it off but it came back. I also feel some tightened and swollen lymph behind my jaw under the ear which was not tender and has a little relaxed now after a month My first dr. said it is due to dehydration and sent the swab culture for hsv1 which came back negative. However, I was diagnosed by a fourth generation IGg hsv1 hsv2 with typing test positive for hsv1 only. Do you think it is because of hsv1 or maybe stress or something else. The general physicians can't give me an answer. the first said it is dehydration and when I showed the one yesterday, she said may be hsv1. thank you.

Brief Answer:
Most probably not due to the HSV1

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I have gone through your query; it suggests that most probably not due to the HSV1.

Symptoms of HSV1 infection of tongue are
1.Pain, burning, tingling or itching occur at the infection site.
2.Ulcer- tiny, shallow, grey ulcers on a red base.
3.Neck lymph nodes often swell up and become painful.

You haven't reported any similar symptoms. Therefore I do not feel those symptoms on your mouth, throat and tongue are due to HSV.

For better diagnosis either send me the image of that area or consult with ENT specialist.
