Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to get a x ray

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case and at the outset you should follow these steps.
1.Avoid water or dust to that finger. Keep it dry. Wear open shoes.
2.Get x ray as soon as possible.
3.Take ibrufen 400 mg twice daily for pain relief.

Besides that, I think you need to get x ray to see if there is any fracture in the toe. If there is any fracture then you will need splinting. Swelling is due to collection of fluid in side wound which take some time in absorption.

You have not mention in your questions, if there is any abrasion, skin wound or scratches. You will need need regular dressing with Antispetic solution if they are present too.

I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
