Do you think the swollen lymph node is worrisome
doctor
Answered by Dr. Anil Parth Desai (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Hi I do not think it is worrisome at this moment

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam
thank you for your reply query mam.
Right now from what you have described I dont think the swelling is worrisome and seems to be due to a bacterial infection.
I would recommend you continue this course of antibiotics and antiinflammatory tablets for 5 days and if the swelling still persists or increases then we can puncture it with a needle to see if there is anything else.
But right now no need to do such aggressive tests and go ahead with the medications.mostly It will resolve.
I hope this helps
wish you all the best.
Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr Parth Desai

I read that it being inflamed in that area is most worrisome.... I never noticed it before until it kind of hurt in that area... And how long should i give it to go down?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Anil Parth Desai (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Hi with the prescribed antibiotic it should go down in a week

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam,
I think with the antibiotic course it should go down in a week. At least the redness should decrease and tenderness will reduce. if it does not then you will require further investigations.
I hope this helps mam.
let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.
Wish you all the best.
sincerely

My dr prescribed a zpack how long should it take in that case
doctor
Answered by Dr. Anil Parth Desai (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Hi It should still take 5-6 days to resolve

Detailed Answer:
Hi Z pack has azithromycin and I generally prescribe a 5 day course for Z pack if used against a stronger infection like lymphadenitis of head and neck region. In that case too I would expect reduction of size and decrease in redness in 5-6 days period after starting the course.

I hope this helps
let me know if you have any more concerns mam.
sincerely
Dr Parth Desai
