Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of UTI

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: Hello. Last weekend I suspected symptoms of a UTI so I went to the doctor and they took a urine sample. They did confirm there was bacteria in the urine so placed me Macrobid. Throughout the week I have been getting a dull/mild pain on the left side of my abdomen that comes and goes (not very painful). Is there any way that I was misdiagnosed and that I actually have a kidney stone? My symptoms that prompted me to visit the doc were difficulty urinating mainly (very delayed) and burning when urinating. No fever, nausea, or blood in urine. What do you think?

Brief Answer:
Less likely to be stone related pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
Usually stone related pain will be more severe. You might have colitis that v might v be responsible for your symptom.

But stone can be diagnosed using KUB x-ray, you can ask your local doctor about it. But based on the information provided by you, it is less likely to be stone related pain.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.

Thank you so much. Also, today is my last day on Macrobid. I have not drank once while taking these. Will I be able to consume alcohol tomorrow or will it reverse the effects and make the UTI come back?
