Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of A Dislocated Jaw

Question: I have a jaw that is partially out of joint. I have been fitted with a mouth guard by my dentist and have worn it almost 3 weeks. I seemingly clench my teeth. My jaw is not much better and I am rather discouraged as it hurts to eat on one side. Any suggestions?
Brief Answer:
Exercises to strengthen the jaw muscles would help.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The jaw joint is known as Temporomandibular joint which unfortunately is a very unstable joint. In case of persons in whom dislocation of the joint occurs, it tends to recur. The solution lies in strengthening the jaw muscles so that they can keep the joint in place. Seeing a physical therapist will let you know the exercises that should help you in this regard.
