There is no medical treatment for Hernia.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am sorry to say that there is no medical treatment for any hernia.
Your mother has developed Incisional hernia. The sutures that were applied inside have opened leaving a defect. The skin will be normally healed. The hernia will contain a sac which has Bowel or Abdominal fat ,i.e, Omentum.Initially, the contents go inside the abdomen freely. In course of time, the contents get blocked leading to Obstruction and Gangrene of the bowel.
So,it is better to get operated as soon as possible.
I prefer to do Hernioplasty repair with PROLENE MESH. Recurrence rate is very less with this procedure.
If she is overweight or obese, her weight has to be reduced.
Please consult a General surgeon/Plastic surgeon, get her examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
