Pain can be reduced with exercises and activity modification.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Hip impingement pain can be relieved to great extent by few exercises and activity modification.
Sitting: sit with hips in external rotation as opposed to knees together
Eliminate sitting with legs crossed
Side sleepers: sleep with pillow between your ankles and knees. Avoid excessive hip flexion while sleeping.
Sumo squat opposed to squatting with a narrow stance
Avoid biking as this causes excessive hip flexion
These activities should be modified until symptoms are completely reduced.
The following exercises will help in reducing the problem along with hip stretches. Kneeling hip flexor, Prone quad, Quadruped adductor, Quadruped glute Supine hip flexion, etc. It is best to do these exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist so as to reduce the hip damage and to put proper stress on the required muscles.
I hope this answers your query.
