Brief Answer:
MS diagnosis is based on McDonald diagnostic criteria in MRI scans

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Multiple sclerosis is a medical condition in which the covering layer of nerves get damages and therefore the patient has wide range of symptoms. A diagnosis of MS is based on particular MRI scan findings listed under the McDonald diagnostic criteria which has last been modified in 2010.

2. The said criteria have to be fulfilled before a probable diagnosis of MS is to confirmed on MRI scan.

3. Feeling numbness, clumsy, and haziness of memory can be from many brain conditions and not always MS. The diagnosis of MS requires dissemination of brain and spinal cord lesions in space and time, there are some typical MRI scan features of MS though.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
