Question : I am 49 years old and had a tubal ligation 21 years ago. I didn't have a real period this month..just a tinge of blood for about an hour on the day I normally would have started. My nipples have been tender and a bit itchy and today I woke up and my tail bone hurts. What could be going on?

Greetings
Since you are 49yrs old ,possibility of decreasing levels of estrogen and progesterone and not having normal bleeding.It may not have any significance to itching nipple or pain in tail bone.
However you should consult a gynaecologist if there is any discharge per nipple or swelling in the breast.
And if you get bleeding in between you should have a check up.
If you never had a gynaec check up since last year,this is the right time.

You are 49 yrs old and sterilised 21 years back.
Hence I did not think in that direction. You can get your early morning urine sample tested for pregnancy. cards are available in medical shops.
It is a very rare possibility ,less than 0.5 %.
Instead,get an ultrasound scan done with gynaec check up. Regards
