Question: Hello Doctor
I am XXXX from XXXXXXX , I have been married for 14 years & have two children aged 12 Male and 5Female with a lot of Bad experiences and lots of fights with wife ,Police complaints without any actions and I have insulted , beaten , traumatized by wife , she irritates , provokes , and tortures all of us at home , she is a very jealous character and does not mingle all the time, too much of over expectation of everything , she does not bother about any thing , she least bothered about children , she scolds my mother and uses extremely vulgar words about me & my mom , and in Sis in law , etc. , she just creates some bad relationships and provokes me and doubts me all the time , if I am late from work she doubts me , however nobody in her house are like that ,
Because of all this ways of life we have had severe Physical Fights , I am unable to divorce also because of children , even after 15 years of our marriage she needs sex everyday and if possible many times tortures me daily (It may sound joke but I am suffereing , children are suffering , my old mother who is patient is suffering )

I have consulted with three other Psychiatrists along with her they gave daxid, nexito and nothing happened at all , These days fights and her jealousy on her sis-in-law and brother and mother is tooo much and she does not even allow me to take care of my mother and give medicines , its becoming very difficult day in and day out

I recently consulted a Psychotherapist in XXXXXXX , he said it may be a Psychotic problem and behavioral Problem but this new doctor has not seen her , Doctor even said just blind folded admit her into a Hospital for treatment , even my wife is not willing to come to psychiatrist again I am trying to get her annual medical checkup done as part of my office routine , I wanted to know if I can use this opportunity to check her mental health , other things related to Pshyctric issues in the lab by paying etc

I want to can blood tests detect any issues in mental health and what tests can I get it done for her and then probably take her to a Doctor

Regards

Brief Answer:
probably a psychotic disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
I understand your concerns.

Psychiatric illnesses are not detected by any tests.
They are diagnosed only by mental state examination.

The symptoms which you have described are suggestive a psychotic disorder.
She might need hospital admission.
But a psychiatric examination is must.

Has she developed sleep problems as well?
Talks big things which are not feasible?
Has her illness increases after medication she tookin past?
Does she complains of hearing some unusual voices?
Has she attempted self-harm or suicide?

Your company may or may not cover a psychiatric examination but, if possible, you must request them for same. Also, by this way yoi can persuade your wife too.

Kindly reply back with answers to above questions so that we can reach to a more conclusive diagnosis.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
probably bipolar disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for the details.

Keeping all these details in mind, I think she had most probably developed bipolar disorder.

The drugs which have been prescribed to her in past were antidepressants which increased her illness.

In my opinion, she needs urgent psychiatric care, preferably as inpatient.

She would need mood stabiliser drugs like valproate or lithium and antipsychotics like olanzapine or risperidone. (prescription drugs).

The best place in bengaluru for you to consult would be NIMHANS. A proper examination and treatment is needed at the earliest before the illness increases further in severity.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Kindly close the discussion if you are satisfied with the response and give your valuable feedback.

Thanks.
