Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Viral Infection

Posted on Fri, 30 Sep 2016
Question: Hi there! I'm a 34yo female, in good overall health, and for the past 3 days or so, I've been feeling tired, very mild headache around my eyebrows (not even bad enough to take Tylenol), mildly upset stomach and loss of appetite, and even though I'm really tired, I can't sleep well at night. Thoughts? Nothing seems severe enough to go to my doctor. I can still work at my full capacity every day, it's just annoying and it's never happened to me before. Thanks!

I meant since 2012! Mirena since 2012. :)

Brief Answer:
Probably a mild viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Physician and Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

Based on your symptoms, it seems to be a mild viral infection. There is no need to worry as it would go away in another few days. For sleep, you may take Zolpidem tablets. I usually give 10 mg dose to my patients.

If symptoms do not improve in a couple of days, you could get CBC (blood tests) done.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
