Brief Answer:
Tanning of skin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to health care magic

I have gone through your query and the picture you uploaded.

Tanning seems to be your concern which has lead to dark, dull and uneven skin tone of your neck region.

UV A part of the electromagnetic spectrum is mainly responsible for tanning.

I would advise you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day especially over the exposed area like neck skin, upper back and face.

It is important to select a right sunscreen for the desired effect.

A good sunscreen should be used having broad spectrum UV A with UV B coverage (for example LAKME sunscreen lotion 30 spf UVA-UVB readily available in all pharmacy) in order to prevent tanning and it needs to be applied in sufficient quantity like 3ml for face and neck (a little more than 1/2 teaspoon) every 2-3 hourly when you have to go outside in sunlight.

A sunscreen with minimum 30 spf would be adequate. It should mention both UV B and UV A coverage. Use this sunscreens on sun exposing parts to avoid tanning.

Also take vitamin C and vitamin E which is also helpful to whiten the darker skin areas.

Avoid excess sun exposure as far as possible.

If I would have your treating doctor, would have advised to use a cream containing one or more of the skin lightening agents e.g. kojic acid, glycolic acid, arbutin or hydroquinone (Brand name:Demelan cream)once daily at night to gradually fade away the darker and dull skin.

Improvement can be seen after 2 to 3 months application of this cream.
