Brief Answer:
Praziquantel prescribed for tape worm infection...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there my dear,

Please bare in mind that tape worm infection cannot be treated with only one course of anti-parasitic drug. Actually, the drug you took in XXXXXXX is Albendazole, an anti-parasitic drug that can kill the worm.

I usually advise my patient to do :
- examination of stool for ova/parasites after 2 weeks of the first treatment
- do abdominal ultrasound to exclude any possible complication

Praziquantel is the drug of choice used in combination with Albendazole. I also prescribe probiotics to my patients together with encouraging to apply good hygienic measures and not to eat undercooked meat.

Hope it helped! Let me know if you have further questions!
