Brief Answer:
Prescription medicine only

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

I rarely find people saying that they could see a tapeworm in the stool. Generally they cannot be found with naked eye in the mess of the stool. Where did she find it? Nevertheless I suggest to get a stool microscopy first to find the actual details and confirm its presence.
Yes tapeworm can cause a lot of maladies and its normal to worry about it.
I do not suggest any colonic treatment. It does not make any sense. The treatment for removal of actual worm and its larva or eggs/cysts is very simple with a course of prescription medicine called Mebendazole/Albendazole. It is actually a single dose to three day course prescribed by doctor.
So I suggest a stool microscopy first, then a full course of treatment.
