Question : My husband had cancer of throat went to md XXXXXXX for treatment has been in remission for seven years he smokes again and now coughs all the time more at night. Today he ate lunch and can not get the feeling to clear his throat, do you have any suggestions ?
Brief Answer:
Possible Tumour regrowth?Needs UGIE Exploration.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I understand your query and concern.
As per your history suggested, its extremely important to suspect any regrowth of the cancer which he had earlier.
There is a possibility of relapse, even though he has be in remission, since he started smoking again.
The possibility of tumor dysphagia is high, explaining the inability to swallow/clear the throat.
Currently the need for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy/UGIE is high to detect the lump in the throat if any.
Post your doubts if any.
Thank you.
