                                            throat infection
Detailed Answer:
hi welcome to health care magicthe common causes of cold include bacterial and viral infections involving throat, sinuses and pharynx. if these infections persists for long duration they may spread to other areas. In your case it appears that you have pharyngitis with extension of infection to the throat and windpipe resulting in hacking cough and throat pain.
I personally feel that it is right time to start on antibiotics and get cleared of residual infection and prevent further progression. you may require a prescription for antibiotics. Meanwhile, before visiting a physician you may try steam inhalation and frequent sipping of hot water. Hopefully this would make you better. Get back to us if you have any further problems. All the best.
