Brief Answer:
You may need antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Although the main cause for throat infection is viral but still many times bacteria will also cause it.

The best thing to do is to gargle with chlorhexidine gargles three times a day and start a course of antibiotics.

Normally I would start my patients on levoflox 500mg once a day for five days.

I would also like you to avoid cold and spicy food and take adequate rest.

If you are having a cold then you can take tablet levocetrizine 10mg at night.
