Question : Hi, I've been having throat pain and scratchiness and dry cough. today I had chest x-rays and couldn't hold my breath long due to the above. Poor technician had to take pictures over. I'm taking anitbitotics for a week and no real improvement. What should I do?

symptoms began 5 weeks ago.

I have gone through your query. Allergy and gastro esophageal reflux can be the reason which makes your condition with out improvement.
Do you feel breathlessness?
Have you done blood routine examination?
If you done it then please upload that and chest X ray picture if possible.
Taking antihistamines like cetirizine (zyrtec) and proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole (Nexium) might be helpful to improve your condition. If then also no improvement then a short course steroid will be helpful. For that you can approach your GP or physician.
