Brief Answer:
Thyronorm and regular testing is the best.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. It is very common to begin suffering from Hypothyroidism after pregnancy. The process of pregnancy itself puts great demands on the gland and on the endocrine system in general and cuases the gland to burn out a bit.

It may be that you will never be cured of hypothyroidism with current therapy and treatment.

In hypothyroidism, the basic problem is that the gland in your neck is not putting out enough of the Thyroid Hormones T3 and T4. The body and the brain tell the thyroid to make more by releasing the hormone TSH, but the thyroid cannot do the job.

So what we do is give the patient "Synthetic Thyroid Hormone".. which is what is contained in your 'Thyronorm' tablet. So in a way, since your own thyroid is not working well enough.. we can supplement what you need by giving you thyronorm. The question to be asked is "How do we know how much to give?"

The only way to do that is to check your blood levels.... if you have enough thyroid hormone in your system (synthetic and natural together).. your body and brain will not produce much TSH.. If you do not have enough.. your TSH levels will be high and if you have TOO MUCH... then your TSH levels will be very low or absent..

So every 4 to 6 months you must get your doctor to order a Thyroid profile test and chek your TSH, T3 and T4 levels.. this will tell you if you need to change the dose of Thyronorm.

I hope you understand what the issue is now. I wanted to make sure you knew what the thyroid problem is and why you need to take your medication regularly. Feel free to follow-up about this or anything else.

Brief Answer:
Have a normal healthy diet, don't worry

Detailed Answer:
There are no special dietary changes to take here. Have a well balanced diet with high protein and high fiber and you will be fine.

You may have the honey-lemon infusion, but it would be best to have the thyronorm before that on an empty stomach.
