Suggest Treatment For Thyroid Nodules In Right Lobe
Question: I had a thyroid u/s done which shows multiple thyroid nodules in the thyroid right lobe and isthmus. The dominant nodule is located in the isthmus.
There is a mildly prominent soft tissue nodule in the right side of the neck which may represent a pathological lymph node. Please give me your input. I have called and scheduled an appointment for next week with a surgeon because I just lost my husband to cancer and I refuse to take any chances.

I am so sorry to hear about these findings and all the inconveniences these has caused you. I will suggest that you get a biopsy first. This is what would tell us whether you have cancer or not. Depending on the results, follow up treatment options would be considered. Most cancers of the thyroid are friendly and totally treatable. Even if it were to be on, chances of complete cure are a lot higher than not being able to. This should offer some reassurance while we look forward into the details and exact actions that we need to take. the death of your husband is for sure not helping but all cancers are never the same even if this happens to be one.
