Question: I have a tight sensation in the top of my head, no pain, just a tight pulling sensation. I painted my porch yesterday and was in some awkward positions. I also do not usually do a lot of that kind of work. I am a female 77 years old, in good health for my age.

Brief Answer:
Rest and warm compress may help

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

There are muscles that cover the skull and they can experience spasm like the other muscles of the body.

Tightness usually implies contraction or spasm of an area.

It is possible the one or more of the abnormal positions are responsible. In most persons the tightness resolves within a few days, rarely lasting up to 2 weeks.

Rest from any aggravating positions as well of the use of a warm compress to help relax the affected area, would be helpful as well.
If it is severe then the use of a muscle relaxant would be appropriate, this would have to be prescribed.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
