Suggest Treatment For Tightness In Forearm And Calf Muscles

Question: In XXXXXXX 2015 I broke out in hives which were controlled with antihistamines and lasted until Oct. The hives cleared up and immediately my wrist, ankles and knee joints began hurting. My knees felt like vice grips were on them. I also had neuropathy in my calves. I was tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis and test results were negative.
Joints no longer hurt but my calf muscles are very tight. Sometimes during the day it is not too bad but gets worse at night when I lie down. The muscle in my left forearm on the top by the elbow also gets tight. Two different times over the last 10 weeks all symptoms have cleared up completely for about 5 days and then returned. I have been an insulin dependent diabetic for over 20 yrs. My last A1C was 6.3. After reading the internet concerning my symptoms I am becoming very anxious. I just turned 70 yrs. old (young 70 yr. old) What could be causing these tight muscles?

Brief Answer:
Get done serum CPK, CRP and ESR level.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
We should first rule out connective tissue diseases and muscle injury or muscular diseases in your case.
So better to get done
1. Serum ANA profile
2. Serum total CPK level.
3. Serum CRP and ESR.
4. Serum Sodium and potassium levels.
5. Serum magnesium level.
So please let me know whether these tests are done or not.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
