Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, its likely that you are having an acute exacerbation of Asthma secondary to an LRTI (Lower respiratory tract infection). The prednisone can be taken for another week at optimum dose with antibiotic cover. The chest should be auscultated. Fever with productive cough/ yellowish sputum does indicate an infective cause. Foracort or symbicort inhaler would be preferable in this situation along with ipratropium bromide (atem ) nebulization. The trade names may vary in your locality so you can discuss these with your doctor/ pharmacist accordingly. For now avoid exposure to triggers such as dust, cold temperature, pollen and other known stimuli particular to your case.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Dr I saw today says. rhinitis allergic postnasal drip send me to ENT and told me to keep using the asthma inhalers singular. Told my chest sound clear. No evidence of pneumonia or anything on my lungs. Told me to keep doing Flonase and keep taking protonix for reflux also told me I could have sometimes low fever. Rest drinks lots of fluids tea soups and as you said something could giving you this dust or anything but ENT should see this I told my chest is congested she said your breathing is good normal maybe is the postnasal drip make you feel that way keep doing what I was doing. Taking my allergic pills and hot water and breath the vapor etc. very frustrated. She said could also acid reflux. Anyway I already went to see the ENT in the past and they told me wash my nose with saline and after use Flonase twice a day. But she said dr. ENT could give me something strong under prescription will see

Hello again.

Yes, the ENT doctor can suspect rhinosinusinusitis with this presentation. There is no harm in getting it checked out. Nasal decongestants and nasal corticosteroids along with antibiotics that cover the sinus infection as well as the lower respiratory tract should ideally be advised, in consultation with your doctor.
