Brief Answer:
If there is thigh swelling then you need thigh high compression stocking.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have blood clot in legs.

Compression stocking is very useful in deep vein thrombosis. It reduce the pain and swelling and give symptomatic relief. Pressure is high at ankle and gradually decrease in legs.

Two things are important. pressure and type of compression stocking.

Normally after blood clot in leg 30-40 mm hg compression stocking should be used.

Knee high or thigh high stocking are available. If you have more swelling in calf then knee high is OK. But if you have more swelling in thigh also then thigh high(above knee) compression stocking should be used.

So you need thigh high stocking with 30-40 mmHg pressure.

Normally 20mmhg pressure stocking is available without prescription. But for 30-40 mmHg pressure you need prescription. So consult your doctor and take it on prescription.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you very good health.
