Brief Answer:
Nerve compression seems to be the most probable reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Numbness is a symptom of nerve irritation or compression. No doubt in that.
Nerve, which is compressed, does not get enough blood supply. So the conduction of electric signals through the nerve is impeded. It sends wrong signals which can be felt as numbness.
If this sensation appears in all 5 fingers, the nerve compression is in the armpit, shoulder or cervical spine area.
To determine the exact location of the problem, test called EMG should be done. Please consult neurologist with this issue.

Hope this help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
