Question: How can I get rid of the tingling and pain in my feet? I have been off alcohol for 29 days now, but still have the tingles and sometimes sever pain in my toes and the bottoms of my feet...I also still have tremors and am still foggy in my head at times...I was a heavy drinker for years.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Alcohol is a neurotoxin that directly damages and kills nerves. What you are describing is nerve damage in your feet related to alcohol use. Unfortunately there is no cure for this as the damage is already done. Sometimes people find gabapentin, a medication for neuropathic pain, useful for managing the pain.

Detailed Answer:
Tremor is also related to chronic alcohol use. Consider taking primidone or propranolol, an anti-tremor medication. Head fuzziness is related to alcohol-related brain damage and is irreversible.
