Brief Answer:
Possible restless legs syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Looking at the description of those sensory symptoms which are relieved by movement I would say that the most probable diagnostic hypothesis would be a condition called restless legs syndrome, a neurological condition characterized by unpleasant sensations mainly in the lower limbs with the urge to move, manifesting when going to bed.

The cause is not well determined, is thought to be due to imbalance of a neurotransmitter called dopamine. In some cases it has been noticed to be related to iron deficiency anemia. Can also be exacerbated by stimulants such as caffeine, alcohol, smoking, stress, some medications etc. Diagnosis must be confirmed by your physician by having a physical exam to exclude other possible conditions like neuropathy. There is no diagnostic lab or imaging test but a blood test is necessary to rule out iron deficiency anemia which may be a cause as already pointed out.

Treatment after trying conservative measures such as exercise during the day, avoiding stimulants in the evening and good sleeping habits, can consist in medication such as dopamine agonists.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
