Question : THERE IS A RUSHING IN MY LEFT EAR, 3 weeks. Like using a seashell. Some other cold symptoms but no cough.

1. The rushing sound that you hear in your left ear is known as Tinnitus.

2. Tinnitus can occur with age related hearing loss or due to the cold that you have.

3. First try an anti-allergic and steam inhalation.

4. If the sound persists, get a PTA (Pure Tone Audiogram) and an Impedance Audiometry (Tympanometry). An ear examination is also recommended.

5. Kindly let me know the results of your investigations. This will help in suggesting further treatment.

6. I must emphasize that in a vast majority of patients of Tinnitus, the exact cause is never found. However there are further treatment options depending on the type of tinnitus.
