Suggest Treatment For Tooth Pain, Swollen Palate And Bleeding Gums

Question: I've gone through 5 1/2 pills of tylenol to get rid of the pain, and my body is fighting it off, I've used a numbing gel pen and it has only made the pain worse, and I'm having trouble going to sleep because of the immense pain I'm in and it's bringing me to tears. The area around my teeth on the left side of my mouth are swollen and red with one small area where it is bleeding in between two teeth (I had a crown implant after the old one chipped). I've heard that it is a case of infection or gingivitis, which terrifies me. Is there anyway I can make the pain go away so that i can sleep? I'm practically ready to start screaming from the pain and a step closer to just jabbing a needle in my gums or ripping out the teeth to make the agony go away.

Brief Answer:
try taking piroxicam

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.

As far as the pain in the tooth and swelling is concerned, it is because of the pulpitis (tooth infection). The bleeding gums is secondary to the gum infection because of deposits. For the severe pain you can take piroxicam tablet, this will reduce the pain in 10min. I suppose this is a prescription drug. Please confirm at the local pharmacy.

Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole along with tylenol (if you are not allergic.

You need to take a radiograph to confirm the diagnosis, once the diagnosis is confirmed, it can be treated with either root canal treatment or scaling.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.

I've heard of amoxicillin and there might be some in the house (I hope) but the dosage instructions for Tylenol extra strength clearly states that I am not to take more than 6 tablets and I've already had 5 1/2.

The crown implant next to the source of the pain was done because of a root canal that was damaged due to negligence on my local dentist's carelessness when they were supposed to add new fillings they only cleaned, not filled. Tooth cracked and the root canal was damaged as a result. My gums are highly sensitive so it's really hard to fall asleep.
Also, is Ibuprofen a alternative to use if I do not have Amoxicillin?

Brief Answer:
Ibuprofen, amoxicillin, upload the images.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.

Commonly tylenol is prescribed at a dose of 500-650mg 3-4 times a day. Do not take anymore tylenol. This might result in gastritis and vomiting. Since you are feeling there was a history of broken tooth and infection, it can be secondary to the same.

Regarding ibuprofen, it is an analgesic you can take it in place of tylenol. However amoxicillin is an antibiotic, so it cannot be replaced by ibuprofen.

In this instance it is not wise to wait. Consult an oral physician and get it treated as early as possible.
If possible, you can upload the image of the teeth in problem.

I hope i have answered your query. Take care.

Turns out, it was an infection and they had to hollow out the tooth. I originally had an appointment made for Wednesday at 8AM but they were able to squeeze me in for 10:40 AM today. As it was, there was a massive amount of pressure building up inside the tooth, and they had to completely get rid of the nerve. I was prescribed Amoxicillin as an antibiotic, and I can't get the root canal replacement done until the 17th. Which means I'll have to try my best to avoid using the left side to eat. This'll be fun.

Brief Answer:
Pus drainage, reduction in pain, get the tooth treated.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.
If they have opened the access cavity to drain the pus, the pain will come down once the pus starts draining. If pus is present then there will be pain, so the pus will drain through the access cavity. So till next appointment you will not have any pain, nothing to worry, you can use that side to chew. You can continue the same medicines for 3 more days. If the pain develops again then consult an endodontist and get it treated immediately.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
