Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: I had surgery a week ago. Arthroscopic knee, torn meniscus. So far no worries. Brushing headed down toward ankle with swelling. But to ight one of the incisions is openly superating what looks like blood plasma. Soaking pajamas. Can't get it to stop. Applied bacitracin and clean gauze and tape. No redness, itching or fever. Thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

Your concern is appreciated

It takes upto six weeks for the knee joint to establish normal joint fluid after surgery and there is also degree of variability in recovery times but if you experience increasing redness around incision side and increasing pain and swelling with fever and ankle swelling you should consult your doctor asap because that means there may be wound infection going on you will be advised antibiotics and anti inflammatory for that.

Hope it helps
Thanks
